“New Generation” – A Young Professional Women Program
A Workforce development program designed for young women that increases self awareness and self confidence to help make the transition from high school to college to the workplace. An important program to help young people get started in the right direction in life. Teens and young adults who participate in G2W’s Workforce Development program will have access to dynamic educational and vocational training resources.
Different topics are covered over five modules using hand out materials, PowerPoint presentations, group exercises and guest speakers that are Leaders from our local community.
NGP101: What’s My Career Path? – Creating a career path is an essential component of a successful life-long career. It requires an honest look at career goals, skills, needed knowledge, experience and personal characteristics, topics include: Understanding your Strengths / Weaknesses, Career design, Career Pathing, Establishing SMART Goals, Setting Priorities
NGP102: Interviewing for Success - A job interview can be a stressful and awkward hour or it can be pleasant, educational, enlightening and successful. The experience of that hour is largely determined by how you spend your time before and after the interview. Prepare and plan that first impression long before you walk in the door, topics include: Value-based Resume Writing, Interview success tips, Negotiating Salary
NGP103: Creating your Personal Board of Directors – Learn how to accomplish powerful individual goals by creating a personal board of directors of seven people you deeply respect and would not want to let down, topics include: Networking skills, Mentoring, How to form your board, Who to invite and why
NGP104: Being a Team Player in the Workforce - The strongest teams are comprised of individuals who accept and seek responsibility, work effectively to impact team performance in a positive way and are accountable for their actions, topics include: Ten qualities of an effective team player, includes handling conflict, understanding different personality types, the importance of emotional control
NGP105: Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling - Despite the fact that women are equal in education, competency and experience, there remains a lack of women at executive levels. Women themselves must take initiative and responsibility for their own success, topics include: How women lead differently than men, the reasons why there fewer women in leadership roles, what is required for women to bring their leadership skills into the forefront.
